Remembering Cuba

A friend of mine made a video (seen above) about my recent trip to Cuba in March, and it has brought me back to that place and time a lot in the last two days. I was also recently informed that our two tour guides (friends, really) have been in contact with our band director and a few members of the band, affirming that they really did enjoy our visit with them. There are so many fun memories from that journey that I had forgotten until this video, and it’s making me quite nostalgic. It also makes me wonder what kind of memories will be made over the course of 8 weeks in Greece this summer. Here are a few of my favorite things from the Cuba trip:
1. Waking up and taking my time making it to breakfast, maybe with a stop on the roof to pray and just soak in the sunshine.
2. Cristobal my bus driver (seen at 3:48 in the video) and his greetings “hola, mi amor” every morning.
3. Afternoon siestas before a long supper (almost always spent reading and napping).
4. Street musicians.
5. half Spanish/half English conversations
6. Church in Cuba

Here are a few pics to enjoy.
